Description

Whether you place a large or small pan on the AEG IAE84411FB, the cooktop adjusts the cooking zone to the size of the pan so that you never use too much energy. With the boost function, the pan heats up faster, so that dishes heat up extra quickly. The SenseBoil function signals when the water is boiling and then automatically switches back to simmering mode. This means that your potatoes will no longer boil over if you're not looking. You can adjust the timer and strength of the cooking zones with the touchscreen buttons on the front of the cooktop.

Note: this cooktop comes with a 3-core cable. You can replace it with a 5-pole Perilex connector, which you have to order separately. Have the cable attached by an electrician to make sure you have the right connection for your socket.

Good hob with unnecessary extras

  • Power boost function on each zone

Going from a ceramic hob to induction is a big difference. This plate has the power boost function on each cooking zone, which ensures that your water boils in no time. You could use the SenseBoil function for this but that is not recommended, after all it only works if there is only water in the pot and let that be the only thing that never boils over anyway, and even then it doesn't always work. It does look nice, although the thin dotted lines of the cooking zones mean that you can't see well with large pots whether you are actually still in the zone. It makes a high-pitched squeaking noise when in use, but luckily that is drowned out by my hood. Using the plate is easy and intuitive, just make sure you don't place anything on the control piece or run a damp cloth over it, as it will start beeping because it thinks there is input.

  • There is a fan underneath that makes some noise after use to cool. That wasn't the case with my previous one.
Was installed quickly, nice plate. Works properly. I have not yet used the anti-boil function with potatoes or pasta/rice.
