Philips 5000 Series STH5020/40

I am one of the lucky ones who gets to test this device, and I am very satisfied. It is a sturdy and handy device that comes in a neat box. The device is packed in a steam glove, which is very handy. This ensures that the device arrives intact and that you can safely steam your clothes. Please note: the glove does not hold all the steam, which can cause your hand to become warm when steaming thin fabrics or on maximum setting. I received the red/pink version, including a pink glove.

The water reservoir is large enough to completely steam a denim blouse. To release the reservoir, pull it down and it simply clicks back up. This was the only thing I had to consult the manual for. The reservoir is very easy to fill and empty.

The device is ready to use within 30 seconds. It has two settings, which is sufficient. I used the Eco setting for delicate fabrics and this gave excellent results. I even steamed a table runner, which was of dubious quality. All deep creases were gone and the runner looked like new.

I used the maximum setting for a denim blouse. Curled edges, such as the bottom of a blouse, are no match for this steamer. They are straight again in no time! Deep creases require a bit more attention, but this also goes better than expected.

Steaming a suit also goes well. I was even able to safely remove small stains with it and steam the collar. This does require some skill and caution, otherwise the collar stands upright. However, this says more about my skills than about the device itself!

The end of the steamer can bend, and I have always used the device in a bent position, which works perfectly.

All in all, this is a no-nonsense steamer that does what it promises.
