I see more and more economical washing machines, which is why I am testing the Beko B5WT5104111M. It has the SaveWater technology, which allows me to use much less water. That is better for my monthly costs and the environment. I also save on my energy bill thanks to energy class A.

First impression The first thing I notice about this washing machine is the dark gray color. This gives my laundry room a nicer look than standard white. When I open the drum, I see how much laundry fits in it. With a filling weight of 10 kilograms, I have enough space for several days' laundry. Handy, because I usually stack my clothes. A load of bed linen also fits in it. I see several technologies on the display, which I would like to know more about.

SaveWater One of those technologies is SaveWater, which allows me to save up to 1,150 liters of water per year in combination with a Beko SaveWater tumble dryer. This is because the dryer saves clean water from my clothes at the end of the drying program and passes it on to the washing machine. This way I save more than 5 liters of water per wash. This only works when I place the dryer on top of the washing machine. I connect the hose from the SaveWater reservoir on the dryer to the SaveWater connection on the washing machine. I have to look carefully where exactly I attach the normal supply hose, but I will find out soon enough.

IronFast IronFast is another handy technique. With this I freshen up my musty shirt with steam and reduce wrinkles. This saves me a wash, which is better for my clothes. Another advantage is that I save even more water, because I only use steam and no long wash program. Nice, if my blouse only smells a bit musty, but has no stains.

AquaTech Another such saving function is AquaTech. With this I wash even faster, because the washing machine sprays water with detergent over my laundry. With the Daily Xpress program I wash my clothes in 28 minutes.

A bit more noise What I notice is that the washing machine is not super quiet, but makes a normal sound. Since I can hear the sound, I place the washing machine a bit further away from my home workplace. That way I always have meetings in silence.

StainExpert The anti-stain program StainExpert is really something for me. When I eat or drink, I often spill something. For example, when I dip a bitterbal in mustard. With the anti-stain function I remove the 24 most common stains, including grease, coffee and make-up. The washing machine soaks my clothes a bit longer, which also makes the foundation on my collar come out better.
