Description

Play all your games at high quality and at the highest level with the 49-inch Philips Evnia 49M2C8900/00 240Hz OLED gaming monitor. The curved design of this monitor ensures that you're totally immersed in your game. In addition, you have a clear overview thanks to the large 49-inch size. Fast-moving images always blend smoothly thanks to the high 240Hz refresh rate and very low 0.03ms response time. This way, you can always see your opponents in time and you can even play games at esports level. Does your PC have an AMD video card? Thanks to FreeSync Premium, your video card and monitor work well together, so you're not bothered by screen tearing. All images and colors look sharp and vivid on the OLED display with Dual QHD resolution. For extra realistic shadows, turn on DisplayHDR 400 True Black.

Note: the maximum refresh rate via HDMI is 144Hz. For 240Hz gaming you need to connect the monitor via DisplayPort.

Top notch screen with ambilight (no ambilight)

  • beautiful OLED screen, it doesn't get better than this
  • beautiful, modern design
  • fantastic sound (especially for a screen)
  • Ambiglow is disappointing, I really expected more here
Fantastic screen, many connection options, nice sound too. In that respect, there is really nothing to complain about on this screen. The remote control initially seems like a nice gadget, but it soon turns out to be necessary - the screen does not turn on automatically as soon as you connect a laptop and it is impossible to operate it via the joystick on the back. I bought this screen specifically for the white, modern design and the Ambiglow technology, but that is very disappointing... The screen is in my living room and not against a wall, but the LEDs look a bit cheap and do not have the wide color range that you would expect from Philips. Maybe you shouldn't compare it with Philips Hue products and that's why they call it ambiglow instead of ambilight, but this is really a missed opportunity as far as I'm concerned. For example, in the 'breathe' mode you expect a nice fade in/fade out of the light, but it happens step by step. You can also only choose from a few different colors, but if you choose 'aqua', for example, and let it fade, the LEDs sometimes turn green (and with 'orange' you also see red at the transitions and there are more colors where the LEDs are not 'pure'). The idea is clearly to put the screen against a wall and it will probably do exactly what it's supposed to do, but that's not how my setup works. I would also have liked to see that you could integrate this with Philips Hue, just like you can integrate a Philips Ambilight TV. That is not the case. Hopefully this will be possible in the future, then I will still be at the front of the queue to buy a Philips Evnia monitor.

Great screen for work, games and movies

  • Provides an extremely quiet image 240Hz and 0.03 ms response time
  • Very suitable for both the office and gaming. Screen offers space to place three documents side by side
  • Fully integrateable with Philips Hue lighting with the Hue Sync app (Windows)
  • The screen is far forward on the base, so you need a spacious desk
I was looking for a monitor that can be used for both business and private use (gaming). The high screen frequency and a response time of 0.03 ms make the Evnia screen an extremely nice monitor. The curvature of 1800 requires an appropriate distance between the screen and the user. Especially because the monitor base takes up quite a bit of space behind the screen (+/- 22cm). This requires a desk with a depth of at least 80 cm. An alternative base may be a solution, although you must take the weight of the monitor into account. The monitor offers Ambi lighting. Don't expect too much unless you connect the monitor to the Hue hub via the Hue Sync app. Even when using the monitor for business purposes, this gives a very special sensation, let alone with films and gaming. I really didn't think so. Furthermore, I am very positive about the fact that the monitor hardly reflects at all. All in all, I am very satisfied with the monitor.

Perfect picture and wonderful space

  • Phenomenal image quality
  • Ultrawide desktop is ideal for work
  • Great for gaming, in modern games that support width
  • Menu operation with the eight button is a crime, it is actually only possible with the remote control
I previously worked with 2 27" screens, which together had the same resolution, but this new thing makes a huge difference. Because it is 1 continuous screen, you can place all your windows freely, and work simply becomes more pleasant. For gaming it is Much nicer anyway, of course, and I'm amazed at how many games display the 32:9 aspect ratio neatly. In games that don't, the black bars on the side don't bother much. In terms of image, this OLED screen is a huge leap forward compared to my old IPS screen. The deep black really helps, and the Windows HDR gives dark parts of photos much more space. The 240Hz refresh rate also eliminates any stuttering animations. The screen has practical connections, and it is especially useful that you can separately connect USB for the 'normal' PC and USB-C for the laptop, which switches everything over. Only a network connection is missing. Operation is fine with the supplied remote control, the physical button on the screen itself is really for emergencies. It would have been nice if there had been an on/off button on the bottom that you can normally reach, instead of just on the back, but this is the only downside so far (besides the hefty price).
