Philips 7000 Series Aqua XC7057/01

I had a Xiaomi stick vacuum cleaner for less than €200 for two years, with which I now compare this Philips stick vacuum cleaner. We are a family with two young children aged 4 and 6, which means we have to vacuum every day, especially around the dining room table. I bought this vacuum cleaner because I was looking for a little more quality and a long battery life. All in all, it is an excellent vacuum cleaner, which is quieter and vacuums better, but with a somewhat disappointing battery life (especially on turbo and normal mode) and some other inconveniences regarding charging and storage, see some more details below. . This vacuum cleaner is more than twice as expensive as my previous one, but I think it is only 1.5 times as good.

Results: This stick vacuum cleaner is of excellent quality, feels solid, is easy to operate and easy to maneuver and, importantly, cleans well. The LED lighting in the base also makes it easy to see where there is something on the floor. Some of the other supplied suction nozzles also have LED lighting. I don't use the mop function.

Battery: When I first used the vacuum cleaner, it was on turbo mode, which quickly drains the battery, meaning it lasts a maximum of 20 minutes. By pressing the button with the minus sign it changes from turbo to normal. On the normal setting I can vacuum an extensive circle around and under the dining table 7 times and that is, to be honest, a bit disappointing. On the eco mode it lasts at least twice as long as on the normal mode. After a whole week of walking around the dining table every day, there is still 50% in the battery. The cleaning result is of sufficient quality on the eco setting, although slightly less good than on the normal setting. The last used mode is automatically used again the next time, which is useful of course.

Charging and storage: Fortunately, you can charge the vacuum cleaner automatically when you hang it in the holder. I hung this, without the handle, in the meter cupboard so that it was stored out of sight. Using a timer I have set it so that the vacuum cleaner is charged once a week. This means that the battery is not continuously charged (perhaps better for the life of the battery). Unfortunately, the battery cannot be charged separately, so you have to place the entire unit, fortunately without the rod, near a socket. Or you have to buy a separate battery charger, but that is quite expensive. The vacuum cleaner also does not stay upright on its own, so you have to either take it apart, hang it up or put it down for storage or if you receive a phone call or someone is at the door.
