This lens isn't exactly cheap, but I definitely don't regret buying it! Had an 18-105mm lens, and used to have a 60mm to do some more macro-focused photography. Since due to circumstances I no longer have the 60mm lens in my possession, I wanted to purchase a basic lens again to do some more macro-oriented photography. The only thing I have some trouble with (mss this comes with experience), is that it is difficult to photograph some insects well with full focus (which is easier with a 60mm). But if you are looking for a good starter lens to slowly build up your macro level, without having to change lenses every time during nature walks, then this one is definitely recommended!

I shoot with a Nikon D3100 and it requires AF-S or AF-I lenses. Since I wanted a Nikon macro lens, purely for a brand new hobby, I couldn't spend too much money on it yet and I chose this one. It took a while to get used to focusing, but I got used to it quickly. I take almost all the photos freehand and it works fine. Finally I can take the pictures I've always wanted to take!
