  • With the integrated heart rate sensor, you can measure your heart rate via your wrist.

  • Garmin isn't compatible with all Huawei smartphones.

Description

Thanks to the classic look of the hybrid Garmin Vivomove Style, you won't see that it has a digital color screen and smart functions at first. You can even make contactless payments with this watch or receive notifications of incoming messages on your smartphone. You can find the smart functions by swiping, which makes the touchscreen appear. You're able to see your heart rate, stress level, and energy level. If the watch shows that you're tired or stressed, you know to take some rest. Do you want to go on a run instead? Connect the watch to the GPS on your phone to track your speed and route.

This watch is recommended for a 15 to 17cm wrist circumference. Note: a charger adapter isn't included. Want to charge the watch via a socket? Order a charger adapter separately.

This is what you get

  • Manual(1.96 MB)
  • 42mm (size watch case M)
  • USB-A charging cable (excluding adapter)

Good and nice watch

  • Beautiful and comfortable
  • Really nice to get so much biofeedback
  • Stimulates both movement and relaxation
  • the measurements are not super accurate

I've had this watch for five days now. I had bought it to keep track of how much I walked and how well I slept. The steps count, of course, although I am sometimes surprised at the outcome. The sleep functions (including number of breaths per minute and oxygen level in your blood) are informative but suggest more exactness than I think is the case. But what turns out to be really useful is the "body battery" that sort of keeps track of how much energy you spend and build up. Here too you have to look through your eyelashes a bit, but I find it amazing how such a graph encourages me to sometimes take it easy and take breaks. And how it provides insight into the activities that my body (the watch looks at, among other things, Heart Rate Variability, HRV, a measure of the functioning of the autonomic nervous system) shows that they are tiring for me. And that during the day I already see that I have to build in rest so that I don't run out of energy well before bedtime. And whether I have replenished the energy supply at night.

A stupid watch that is very smart

Instead of going 'full smartwatch' I decided to look for a "dumb" watch that is smartly made. I soon arrived at the Garmin Vivomove Style. After a long time of hesitation (it is quite pricey) I found it second chance at Coolblue and after a week of use I am more than happy with my purchase.

Design At my work, many colleagues were impressed by the design because the hands move so nicely with the information or, on the contrary, they avoid the information (for incoming messages) by standing at a quarter past three. You can customize the watch faces, but that's only to the options Garmin gives you. These are fine, extensive and you can even choose a color. But it would still be nice if you could set it up all by yourself. Fixed widgets can also be added, removed from the list or rearranged.

Functionality The watch counts steps and heart rate perfectly in my opinion. Not once have I been asked to reconnect (with the OnePlus 7T). The Garmin app is handy and user-friendly with a lot of insight into your biofeedback, the watch ensures that I drink more in a day (daily drinking goal and easy to add a volume of hydration via the watch) and the app recognizes whether you are walking or cycling. I haven't done an actual activity yet, so I can't judge yet about the GPS by phone. Although I don't expect anything crazy there. The same goes for Garmin Pay: not used, but will probably work fine. What I did test is the sleep tracker. I'm not a fan of sleeping with a watch on, but I was curious about how it worked. I woke up a number of times during the night, but it was not registered as such. Also in the morning when I was awake and quietly watching a series in bed, the watch registered that I was in my REM sleep. The 'Body Battery' was also completely empty after a night's sleep measurement, while according to the watch I had slept for 10 hours. Strangely enough, this measurement is more accurate without sleep measurement. Another weird measurement is the stress meter, no idea what this is based on. I got a lot of messages that I needed to relax, while I was already sitting quietly or not feeling stressed at all. Those messages actually made me stressed. Fortunately, you can also turn off the relaxation notification. According to Garmin, the watch learns your patterns and the measurements will have to become more accurate over time.

Battery The battery lasted me 3-4 days. This is, of course, because I haven't used GPS through my phone and I don't track sleep every night. If you are going to do this, then you will have to charge the battery after a day or 2-3, I expect.

Almost perfect Because I have read many reviews like this and watched many YouTube reviews, I knew about its defects. Not so much from the incorrect sleep measurement or frequent relaxation notifications, but from the double tap to wake up. In rest mode you don't see a screen, if you tap the screen twice, the screen wakes up ... often after three times. It's not always easy no, but luckily I'm a patient person and turning the wrist is often enough to wake up the screen. All in all, a very nice watch that provides a lot of insight into your well-being and also looks beautiful!

Stylish watch with many possibilities

  • Beautiful design
  • You can pay with it
  • Battery life

A fine watch. You can do a lot with it, including paying which I really like. It does need to be charged a little more often than I was used to with my Fitbit.
