Garmin Vivomove Style - Rose Gold/White - 42mm

Instead of going 'full smartwatch' I decided to look for a "dumb" watch that is smartly made. I soon arrived at the Garmin Vivomove Style. After a long time of hesitation (it is quite pricey) I found it second chance at Coolblue and after a week of use I am more than happy with my purchase.

Design At my work, many colleagues were impressed by the design because the hands move so nicely with the information or, on the contrary, they avoid the information (for incoming messages) by standing at a quarter past three. You can customize the watch faces, but that's only to the options Garmin gives you. These are fine, extensive and you can even choose a color. But it would still be nice if you could set it up all by yourself. Fixed widgets can also be added, removed from the list or rearranged.

Functionality The watch counts steps and heart rate perfectly in my opinion. Not once have I been asked to reconnect (with the OnePlus 7T). The Garmin app is handy and user-friendly with a lot of insight into your biofeedback, the watch ensures that I drink more in a day (daily drinking goal and easy to add a volume of hydration via the watch) and the app recognizes whether you are walking or cycling. I haven't done an actual activity yet, so I can't judge yet about the GPS by phone. Although I don't expect anything crazy there. The same goes for Garmin Pay: not used, but will probably work fine. What I did test is the sleep tracker. I'm not a fan of sleeping with a watch on, but I was curious about how it worked. I woke up a number of times during the night, but it was not registered as such. Also in the morning when I was awake and quietly watching a series in bed, the watch registered that I was in my REM sleep. The 'Body Battery' was also completely empty after a night's sleep measurement, while according to the watch I had slept for 10 hours. Strangely enough, this measurement is more accurate without sleep measurement. Another weird measurement is the stress meter, no idea what this is based on. I got a lot of messages that I needed to relax, while I was already sitting quietly or not feeling stressed at all. Those messages actually made me stressed. Fortunately, you can also turn off the relaxation notification. According to Garmin, the watch learns your patterns and the measurements will have to become more accurate over time.

Battery The battery lasted me 3-4 days. This is, of course, because I haven't used GPS through my phone and I don't track sleep every night. If you are going to do this, then you will have to charge the battery after a day or 2-3, I expect.

Almost perfect Because I have read many reviews like this and watched many YouTube reviews, I knew about its defects. Not so much from the incorrect sleep measurement or frequent relaxation notifications, but from the double tap to wake up. In rest mode you don't see a screen, if you tap the screen twice, the screen wakes up ... often after three times. It's not always easy no, but luckily I'm a patient person and turning the wrist is often enough to wake up the screen. All in all, a very nice watch that provides a lot of insight into your well-being and also looks beautiful!
