Thanks to the zoom range, the lens is suitable for capturing subjects up close and from a distance, without switching lenses. For the demanding photographer, this is a super sharp and fast (bright) lens with a standard zoom range. I find it a bit heavy on the Z6 body and I expected that they could make this f/2.8 in the new Z version a bit more compact. But it is still smaller and lighter than the Nikon F version and there is really nothing to complain about in terms of quality. The autofocus is remarkably quiet and fast. Actually a no-brainer for the real enthusiast who wants to get the most out of the full-frame Nikon Z. And has the budget for it... because this lens has a hefty price tag.
