This American Family Hub from Samsung is, without exaggeration, the most luxurious refrigerator I have ever seen. I am most enthusiastic about the built-in camera, the tablet and the automatic door. With the camera I can see what I have in stock at home in the supermarket. However, the camera only focuses on the top of the cooling compartment. The door opens automatically when I lightly touch the sensor. The tablet on the front is the icing on the cake for me. With this I watch series while I am cooking. First impression For me, the kitchen is a place where everyone comes together and where it is cozy. This refrigerator contributes to this feeling. Everyone who comes to visit is immediately curious about all the functions. When I lightly touch the sensor at the door, the refrigerator opens automatically. Due to the large capacity on the inside, I have a lot of space and I never have to cram. Inside the refrigerator is a Metal Cooling back wall. This metal wall retains the cold better when I open and close the door. It is also nice that I can tap a cold glass of water with ice cubes via the dispenser. Built-in camera I normally find grocery shopping quite a hassle. Sometimes I drive back a few times because I forgot something. This is not necessary with this refrigerator thanks to the built-in camera. I can see from the supermarket which ingredients I am still missing for my fresh pasta. I do this via an app on my smartphone. Even when I am in the kitchen, I can see what is in the refrigerator via the tablet. I only look at the top. Auto Open Door When I am standing in front of the refrigerator door with my hands full of oven snacks, I am happy with the Auto Open Door function. This works with voice control via Bixby, Samsung's virtual assistant. Even when I touch the sensor on the door with my index finger, the door opens automatically. This works the same for the freezer compartment. The sensor is quite sensitive, so the door also opens if I accidentally bump into it. Fortunately, I am getting better and better at this. Watching series For me, the tablet is the highlight of this refrigerator. While I bake an apple pie, I stream my Samsung TV on the screen. I also watch cooking programs on YouTube, put on Miffy for my daughter and keep track of the family agenda. When the doorbell rings, I look on the tablet to see who is at the door. My groceries, which I ordered online, have arrived. I put them away immediately.

This refrigerator may be on the expensive side, but you get a real eye-catcher in return. The sleek design and beautiful color fit perfectly in a modern kitchen. What is also immediately noticeable: it is whisper-quiet. You can hardly hear it, which is especially nice in an open kitchen or if you spend a lot of time near the kitchen. The built-in screen is a nice addition. For example, you can play Spotify on it, which provides extra atmosphere while cooking. It is also linked to your Ring doorbell, as soon as the doorbell is rung, a pop-up appears with a live image of who is at the door. Handy and fun. Too bad you can't install many other apps. The refrigerator is also voice-controlled via Bixby. For example, you can have the doors open when your hands are full. Really ideal while cooking or unpacking groceries. Bixby works smoothly, but only speaks English, which sometimes takes some getting used to. Thanks to the built-in sensors in the doors, you hardly have to use any force to open them. Super handy if you have muscle pain or just don't feel like pulling on a heavy door. The quick freeze function is a big plus. Fish and other products freeze very quickly without sticking together or leaking moisture. Everything stays neatly separate, which is much neater and more practical. There is also a camera in the fridge that allows you to see what is still in it via your phone. Unfortunately, the camera only shows two shelves and the image quality is somewhat disappointing, quite pixelated, especially for this price and from a brand like Samsung I expected more. Conclusion: a luxurious, silent and smart fridge that makes daily use a lot easier and more fun. Not everything is perfect, but overall we are very satisfied.
