According to our drone expert
The DJI Air 3S Fly More Combo + Smart Controller is a complete set for drone enthusiasts. The set includes a DJI Air 3S Drone with Smart Controller, 2 extra batteries, extra propellers, an ND filter set, a charging dock, and a carrying bag. The Smart Controller has a built-in screen, so you don't need a smartphone while flying. With the 2 extra batteries, you can extend the flight time of the drone by 90 minutes. You can charge them in the included charging dock. The Air S3 has 2 lenses. You can record bright footage with lots of details thanks to the 1-inch sensor of the 24mm wide-angle lens. With the second 70mm lens, you can zoom in on objects in the distance.
Image qualityThanks to the double lenses, you can make both wide-angle recordings and telephoto recordings with the Air 3S. This makes the drone versatile in use. The 24mm lens captures a lot of light thanks to the large maximum aperture of f/1.8 and the 1-inch image sensor. This way, you can record bright footage. The 70mm zoom lens has a 1/1.3 sensor an f/2.8 aperture. You can record HDR footage with a large dynamic range of 14 stops. This way, you can capture more details in the light and dark parts of the subject. This creates realistic and colorful images.
SensorsThanks to the 360-degree obstacle detection sensors, the drone recognizes and avoids objects from all sides. You won't bump into obstacles as fast when you're flying between the trees, for example. Thanks to the LiDAR sensors on the front of the drone, you can fly extra safely. The drone measures the distance to certain objects with lasers, so it can avoid them more accurately. This is mostly useful when it's dark.
Laws and regulationsFrom 2021 onward, new European drone regulations apply. This means that drone pilots must register themselves if they own a drone that weighs more than 250g or has a camera. They'll receive an operating number that needs to be attached to your drone and has to be clearly visible. This drone weighs more than 500g, so you need a basic drone course for this.

With the DJI Air 3S I make very sharp and clear images. It has 2 cameras for different angles. Because it is heavier than 250 grams, I need a drone course to fly it. Drone course needed I have already tested a number of small drones, but now it is the DJI Air 3S's turn. This drone is heavier than the DJI Mini drones, which means I need a drone course to be allowed to fly it. I have taken this course and obtained my drone certificate. Due to its higher weight, I find the Air 3S less suitable for traveling. It takes up more space in my bag and it becomes heavy when I carry it with me all day. I do think it feels sturdy. It is not easily carried away by the wind. High image quality The videos I record with the Air 3S are very detailed and clear. It has a relatively large 1 inch sensor that captures a lot of light. At the time I am testing this drone, it is cloudy outside. This means there is little daylight, but my shots still look clear. When the sun comes through, I notice that the camera has a large dynamic range. I see a lot of detail in both the light parts of the image and the dark parts. Two cameras With the 2 cameras I switch between wide-angle images and more zoomed-in shots. I do not lose any image quality. For example, I capture a vast landscape with the large angle of view of the 24mm lens. Scottish highlanders walk in the meadow near my house, I zoom in on them with the 70mm lens. This way I capture the animals larger, without flying towards them with my drone. This way I disturb them less in their natural environment. Fly More Combo With the Fly More Combo I receive a nice bag with various accessories. It contains 3 batteries, extra propellers and a remote control. I have the Smart Controller with a built-in screen. I find this useful, because I do not need my phone while flying. The screen is very bright. Even when the sun is shining, I can see what is on the screen well. I also find the screen large, so I can see details well.

Bought the drone for my mini 3 pro and avata and hover promax but did not expect that this would become my preferred drone. Drone starts up much faster than the mini 3 pro and the telephoto lens is a great addition. Use it mainly for photography but for video the bitrate is a bit disappointing compared to its predecessors and the mini 3 pro. All in all it is worth its price for the complete set if I compare it to the Mavic 2 pro which it replaced.

I have had this drone for 2 weeks now and I like it very much, it can also withstand a strong gust of wind and stays neatly in place. The range between RC2 and Drone is also fine, but if there are many obstacles in between, it disappears quite quickly and the Drone returns via RTH. Coincidentally, I came across the "Cellular Dongle 2" at DJI and to my surprise you can place it under the cover on top of the Air3S above the battery, then it is neatly concealed. If you place this Dongle with a data SIM, the connection between RC2 and Drone will automatically switch to 4G LTE if the normal range drops. I have tested this and it works perfectly, you can now fly further without the Drone spontaneously flying back (if there is no OcuSync range). This makes flying more pleasant without the risk of losing the connection. Perhaps a tip for Coolblue to also include this in the range as accessories, then I would have definitely ordered from Coolblue. I have written a review before, but I still want to make this known for people who are also interested in this.
