The Asustor NIMBUSTOR 4 Gen2 AS5404T is a compact NAS with a lot of storage space and fast working memory. This allows me to store a lot of files and work with multiple people on the NAS at the same time. Placing the bays is a bit stiff due to the plastic housing, but once they are fixed they work fine with a hard drive in it. Storage and connections Because this NAS has room for 4 2.5 inch SSDs, 3.5 inch HDDs or M.2 NVMe SSDs, I can easily store all my large files. Unfortunately, no hard drives are included, but this allows me to determine how much storage space I want. I store multiple 4K films, photo albums or important work files with the AS5404T. Thanks to the 4 gigabytes of RAM, I can open many files at the same time, even when working with colleagues or friends with the NAS. This makes multitasking no problem. Even when I transfer large folders with photos or videos at once, it works well or makes no noise. Connections This NAS also has an HDMI 2.0 port, which I use to connect this external server to my laptop or television to watch films or series. In addition, the NAS has 2 built-in 2.5 Gbit Ethernet ports. This gives me a fast internet connection, even if one fails. Through the 2 USB connections, I can connect peripherals for making backups with an external hard drive or connect a printer to the NAS. Easy to use Installing this NAS is easy, because you only need 2 cables to connect it. Both the power cable and 2 internet cables are included in the box. I can connect the NAS without any problems to the Asustor AiMaster app on my smartphone or the Asustor Control Center on my computer and get started right away. The bays are firmly attached behind a magnetic front plate, which prevents dust from entering. Taking the bays out of the case feels a bit awkward, because you have to pull hard on the plastic. Despite that, placing a drive in the bays is not difficult and it works immediately.

I bought this NAS because of the 4 nvme slots. I only use SSDs, which keeps energy consumption and noise to a minimum; this saves a lot in TCO (total cost of ownership) in the long term. Coolblue's description of the CPU is incorrect. This is a 4 cores CPU and not 2 cores, as stated by Coolblue.

I like it very much, Coolblue just needs to be more careful when entering the specs, which are often incorrect. This is a quad core nas not a dual core
