Note: most customers choose the DJI Mini 3 Fly More Combo because of its longer flight time thanks to the 2 extra batteries.
The DJI Mini 3 is a drone for the beginner drone pilot. You can make both horizontal and vertical recordings that are suitable for social media. Thanks to the obstacle detection on the bottom, you prevent collisions during a landing, for example. That's useful if you have little experience with drones. The drone has a low weight of 249g and when you collapse it, it's about the size of your hand. That means you can easily take it on your trips. With a fully charged battery and ideal weather conditions, you can fly for 38 minutes. Strong wind and a low outdoor temperature result in a shorter battery life.
Image quality
With the DJI Mini 3, you can take detailed photos of nature in 4K resolution at 30 fps. You can take smooth images of special moments like an active vacation, for example. Videos have a large dynamic range and realistic colors when you record in HDR. You can even see details in dark shadows this way, for example. If you record videos for social media, you can make vertical recordings thanks to the True Vertical Shooting function. The gimbal rotates by 90 degrees in this mode, so you can capture vertical recordings without quality loss. You can share the images via Instagram or TikTok afterwards.
Functions
The app allows you to set different recording modes such as the Circle function. This makes the drone fly in circles around the subject. This way, you can easily take cinematic photos for your social media channels. The drone has 3-axis image stabilization, which reduces shocks and vibrations in your videos. This allows you to get smooth footage, even when there's wind. It can withstand wind gusts of up to 38km/h.
Laws and regulations
In 2021, new European drone legislation came into effect. This means that drone pilots must register themselves if they own a drone that weighs more than 250g or has a camera. They receive an operator number that needs to be attached to their drone and clearly visible. This drone weighs less than 250g, so you don't need a drone course. You do need to register the drone and request an operator number.
