ELRO Blue Line CBFS58R Smoke Detector 4-pack + Carbon Monoxide Detector

Neat smoke detector which you can also link with each other. If one goes off, the rest goes too. This way you are quickly warned of a possible fire. Unfortunately, the manual gave the wrong instruction regarding pairing. This contains 3x pressing on the 1st smoke detector and then 3x on the smoke detector to be connected. This is not right. In the tr download manual it says holding down for 15 seconds what does work. This cost me a lot of time and frustration.

The detector is neatly designed, nice small size. The mounting material is of poor quality. The detector had to be placed on wood. The screw turned by hand right through the middle. The material of the screw is much too soft. It is also irritating that a red LED flashes every so many seconds. Funny that they apparently have a different time format in other languages... the manual is described in several languages, in Dutch the light flashes every 32 seconds and in the other languages every 40 seconds. I can confirm it is 40 seconds. I don't think the blinking is necessary and annoying. Not suitable for the bedroom. It notifies you when the batteries are empty and you can simply test the detector briefly by pressing the button. What struck me is that the manual is incorrect. The detectors can be linked, everything followed according to the manual, do not work. The Elro website gives completely different information that is not in the manual (see this as a tip).

The alarm goes off very regularly without an apparent cause; reason for me to remove them all (5 pieces) and look for a (hopefully) better alternative.
