Hey CoolBlue, this machine is supposed to toast bread, not customers! Immediate short circuit upon first use. The kitchen unit's earth leakage circuit breaker had tripped. After disconnecting the plug from the socket, measured the leakage resistance of the plug to earth ground with a Fluke 175 multimeter. It turns out that the insulation resistance between phase and ground drops to 100 Ohms when actuated. The short-circuit current to earth was therefore 2.3 A. That is an exceedance of more than 8000 x (!) the CE standard. Dangerous. Fortunately, my electrical installation has a protective earth and an earth leakage circuit breaker. You can't imagine what would have happened without a RCD. This device has a CE mark, which means that you can expect that this device is at least tested for basic safety before delivery. Not so. Large warning labels taped to the device and box so it doesn't get a second chance.

Nice toaster. Pretty basic, but does what it's supposed to do. Nice and compact, so it takes up little space on the counter. Only downside is that the slots are quite small so that some sandwiches don't fit properly. But if you flip them halfway through, it works fine too.

Great compact toaster. Bit small (so takes up little space) but big sandwich won't fit or have to turn it half way.
