Makita battery platforms
Makita has multiple battery platforms, such as Makita LXT 18V, CXT 12V Max, and G 18V. Batteries are interchangeable within a battery family. For example, you can use a Makita LXT 18V battery for a Makita LXT 18V hedge trimmer, but also for a Makita LXT 18V drill. The big advantage of a battery platform is that you don't have to buy a new battery. You simply use the battery you already have at home from the same battery platform as the tool you have in mind. That saves money. You also have the advantage of the cordless freedom that cordless tools offer.
