Description

Manage, automate, and monitor your entire smart home with the Athom Homey Pro. You can manage all smart home devices in your home from 1 place with the Homey Pro. You can easily connect devices like an audio system, robot vacuum, or smart thermostat to the Homey Pro. You control these via a smartphone app. Homey Pro has WiFi 5GHz for a faster connection. The Homey Pro is also suitable for the Matter standard, the language smart devices communicate with. You can expand the Homey Pro with 1 or more Homey Bridges. That way, you broaden the wireless connection in your home. Have a TV in your bedroom? Place a Homey Bridge near it. It then communicates with your television instead of the Homey Pro in your living room. The Homey Pro also has Advanced Flow software, with which you can connect certain actions. For example, let an alarm sound when the camera sees movements inside when you're not home. You can connect the Homey Pro 2023 to your Google Assistant, Siri, or Alexa for voice control.

For the enthusiast, not really for the normal consumer

  • Supports different protocols
  • Very sophisticated automations possible
  • Not for 'ordinary' consumers

This is a product for prosumers and people who enjoy experimenting with smart home devices. NOT for the 'ordinary consumer'. The hub supports various protocols. Many brands have a so-called 'app' available so that the hub can communicate with the accessories. Before purchasing, first check whether the accessories you want to connect are supported. Please note that although an accessory is supported, this does not mean that all functionalities of the accessory in question are supported. For example, a button that supports short, short, short, long pressing can only detect in the Homey app for the relevant accessory that it has been pressed, not in what way. This also varies from brand to brand, and accessory to accessory. You can create very sophisticated automations. If you can program, there are even more possibilities! Interesting automations can be made even without programming knowledge, but you have to enjoy sitting down to do this. All in all a very nice device, but NOT plug and play.

Get into the flow

  • Ease of installation
  • Flows
  • Versatility
  • Wifi drops out occasionally

One hub for all. Although the Homey is more than a hub. It is a complete smart home. 8 antennas for connectivity with many types of devices. But for me the most important thing is the flows. The ease with which you can create flows without programming skills. I started with Apple Home. Fine, but soon ran into limitations with devices that were not compatible. Homey can even talk to my dishwasher, washing machine and click-on-click-off. And all this without the use of extra hubs. There is still more for me to discover. The WiFi of the homey works well, but sometimes it drops out without recovering. I am not alone in this experience. 2 colleagues have the same experience. Advice: buy an extra Ethernet adapter.
