Description

The Netgear GS316EP is a network switch with 15 connectors that have Power over Ethernet. This way, you can power devices like IP phones and access points via the network cable without needing an extra socket. The last connector is a port for SFP modules. You can also configure this switch entirely according to your own preferences. For example, prioritize video calls with Quality of Service. This way, your employees can continue their meeting while downloading a large update. In addition, you can track the internet traffic on your network precisely. If the internet happens to be slow, you can easily see who's taking up a lot of bandwidth. Thanks to VLAN, you can divide your network into multiple parts. For example, create separate networks for your employees, external staff, and visitors. This way, files will never fall into the wrong hands.

I have a smart home so I need a lot of lan ports; the four that are on my router are not enough and also have no POE, which this switch does. So yes, a switch is a solution. I chose the POE variant because of the expansions of my smarthome, where POE is desired. The device is heavy, all-metal case, which protects the intestines well. The power supply is also heavy and bulky, something to consider if you want to install this unit in a confined space. The product is provided with mounting material; very handy. €129,= it is a lot of money but then you also have something. Installing is very easy. It is a manageable switch so the settings of the switch can be adjusted at a decent level; it is not "fully manageable" but for my home garden and kitchen network it is not necessary either.
