costs a few cents, but then you also have something; packaged like an Apple product (a gift to unbox, for the unboxing fetishists among us) and the weight suggests solidity and quality ... most of it will be battery, but hey, finish is great. And then the sound ... how can that sound come from such a small thing, was my first thought; after a few listens: there is sometimes something missing in the middle, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this thing sounds fine otherwise. Why this one, and not the Xtreme? Most reviews are praising both, so that's of no use ... but one (1) reviewer made a useful comment, which I'd like to add here: the Extreme needs a higher volume to come into its own in terms of sound quality and the Charge, on the other hand, also sounds great at lower volume.

In a previous review I wrote why I was happy with this speaker. I don't have to repeat that, everyone writes about it and it's true. I had a real party with 1 single box. But how nice if there are several? With the party boost function it is tempting to buy a second box, which I did. But if you think that the boxes can pair when you want to play music from your laptop, then you are disappointed. They do not. Only when you connect your box to your phone. Why, JBL? And why is this not described anywhere? This is precisely the reason why I bought a second box. So for people who only intend to play music from their phone, fine, super fun, party boost works perfectly. So not via your laptop. In no way. Perhaps there will be an update from JBL that makes this possible, would be so neat. And if not, there may be some clever programmers who can hack the firmware so that the box thinks your PC is a phone, something like that. I am waiting for it.

I like the product very much. Nice sound and good bass for the size of the box, easy to carry and a long battery life, so definitely recommended
