What's the difference between a laptop with a QWERTY and AZERTY keyboard?
The differences between AZERTY and QWERTY
The order of the keys on a keyboard differs per country. You can recognize the keyboard layout by the first 6 letters on the keyboard. These are either the letters AZERTY or QWERTY. On a laptop with an AZERTY keyboard, you use the Shift key differently. If you press the Shift key on an AZERTY laptop, you'll type numbers instead of punctuation marks. If you do the same on a QWERTY laptop, you'll type punctuation marks instead of numbers. A QWERTY keyboard is designed for the English language. With an AZERTY keyboard, it's easier to type in French.
When do you choose a QWERTY laptop?
Sometimes it's easier to choose a QWERTY laptop in Belgium as well. Do you work for an international or Dutch organization? There's a good chance they use QWERTY keyboards at the office. You can choose a QWERTY laptop to get used to the keyboard layout at the office. If you write a lot of English texts for your studies or work, a QWERTY keyboard is more practical as well. That's because the QWERTY keyboard is specifically designed for the English language.
