Samsung HW-Q930D (2024)

I have recently tested the Samsung HW-Q930DXN and I think this home cinema set is of high quality. The system works great with my non-Samsung TV and I can simply use the TV remote to adjust the sound. The surround sound mode also works well, but it does not work with every series. I sometimes had the feeling that the rear speakers were turned off, but maybe I didn't set something up correctly. Which also brings me to the second negative point, the manual provides very little explanation about setting up the home cinema set. Some things become clearer when you use the SmartThings app, but I would have preferred a more detailed manual. For the rest, this soundbar works excellently, the sound is of real top quality and all parts work nicely together to give a real cinema feeling. That is also the most important thing for me.

We were very enthusiastic when we were allowed to test this product. We love music and films, so testing it out was no problem for us. First of all, the connection went very smoothly, it was plug and play and no further hassle and that is already a plus for us. We tested the set with different sounds, 3D sound, atmos and surround. We think it sounds very good, our son said: it sounds like I'm in a cinema! All in all a very positive experience with this set, and an absolute recommendation and good investment if you want to go for quality.

The Dolby Atmos sound really flies around your ears! You really hear a clear difference compared to a 5.1 set. It is a pity that the soundbar only supports certain functions with the latest Samsung TVs. This is not clearly stated anywhere (certainly not with Samsung itself). Our TV is from 2021 (and was Samsung's top model at the time) and even then certain functions such as Space-Fit sound etc. are not supported. This means that when we turn on our TV it freezes for the first few minutes and the soundbar displays the message 'Not Available' several times. After a few minutes the soundbar/TV works properly, but it is still a pity that not everything is built into the soundbar. Q-Symphony, on the other hand, does work! This ensures that the speakers built into the TV work together with the soundbar, this really gives a noticeable difference in sound, cool! From the box you only have to plug the rear speakers, subwoofer and soundbar into the socket and they automatically connect wirelessly to each other. It is a pity that the soundbar comes with mounting brackets in the box, but not for the rear speakers. For this you have to buy separate feet or hang up a shelf or something similar yourself. If you like tweaking you should look for another soundbar. In the Samsung Smartthings app you can adjust some settings, but not as many as with other manufacturers. However, you get great sound out of the box, but if you are a stickler for detail you don't get that many settings to play with. I was able to test this product for a few weeks as part of a test campaign.
