TP-Link Archer T9UH

My original goal when purchasing this product was to equip a slightly older desktop with WiFi. We had just moved, and it was now a little less practical to run a network cable throughout the house. First of all I want to say that this dongle has exceeded all my expectations. It has excellent signal to my router which is 15 meters and 2 walls away. The link to the router is according to Windows 780Mbit. My download speed is limited by my ISP at 50Mbit, and I can easily reach this with the TP-Link. All usual applications work as expected. I can easily download, watch Youtube, stream Netflix and play multiplayer games with a ping of 15ms. But what really surprised me is how well it can stream games to my TV via my Steam Link. Normally I read a lot of complaints online that this would be problematic over WIFI, but not so much with the TP-Link Archer. There is a little input lag, but the games are very playable at 1080p and 60fps, with no noticeable compression artifacts. The games I tried were: Alan Wake, Resident Evil 7, Rocket League and Divinity Original Sin 2. Very cool, because now I really don't have to pull any network cables :-) The only downside I can think of is that it might be a bit too big to put in your PC or laptop. However, the supplied dock solves this. And it still looks nice on your desk.

The range and speed of this device are excellent, there is nothing to complain about. My biggest problem with this device is that the connection to my PC is extremely unstable. Working for weeks on end without any problem, but then constantly losing the connection for no reason. I've tried just about every option to avoid this, but nothing seems to help. A fixed channel (busy environment) does not provide the desired result, tried all other settings, reinstalled drivers, software updates, Bit Defender from my PC (had to do much earlier ;-) ) Windows 10 also did not solve anything ( switched for another reason, by the way!). Nothing resulted in a stable connection. When this adapter works it is one of the fastest and most impressive WiFi connections possible in my opinion, but that is exactly the reason why I do not recommend this product, the word 'when'. I'm not buying a new one yet, but I'm about to throw it in the trash with some regularity. If you search the internet, you will find out pretty quickly that my problem is not one of the absolute exceptions. Do what you want with this review, there are also plenty of people who apparently have no problems, and then it is an excellent device.
