The first thing that strikes me is the sleek design of the hob. The cooking zones are indicated with lines. This makes the hob fit well in a sleek kitchen. I also immediately notice the spacious layout, because I often cook with many pans at the same time. I am particularly curious about the flexible cooking zone. Does pairing really work for a griddle? In addition, the hob is suitable for 1, 2 and 3 phases. This means you can also use the hob with a normal plug.

Easy grilling thanks to flexible cooking zone
First I test the flexible cooking zone. These are 2 zones that you use as 1 large cooking zone or as 2 separate zones. If I press the icons of both cooking zones at the same time, I can easily link them together. This way I can grill vegetables and steak in no time. The 8-angled cooking zone heats the plate quickly and gives the same amount of heat everywhere. Handy, because that way my grill plate is evenly warm and it doesn't matter where I put my piece of meat.

Wide hob with fine layout
The layout of the hob is nice. The largest zone for a soup pot, for example, is on the right. It's usually in the middle, so you have less space for large pans on the other cooking zones. The KIF880ZT can easily fit 5 pans. The flexible cooking zone is on the left, so that everything can cook there quietly while I prepare the rice and sauce on the other cooking zones.

Boil water quickly and pause preparation
The hob has many useful functions. For example, I quickly bring a pan of water to the boil with the boost function. During cooking I also see a timer running up. This way I know exactly how long my pasta is cooking or whether my curry is simmering. In addition, the pause function is very useful. The hob pauses with one touch of the pause sign. It will then remember the setting. So I quickly open the door for the parcel deliverer.

Simple operation, but a bit harder to see
What strikes me is that you can easily set the hob. With the slider function I quickly slide to the right cooking setting. The touch buttons also respond immediately to my touch. Selecting or connecting the right cooking zone is also easy. The Place and Slide function recognizes the placement of a pan, so that the control lights up automatically. The controls are less clearly visible in bright sunlight or the clear LED lighting of the extractor hood.

We have always cooked on gas, but since we have solar panels, it was time to switch to induction.
I hesitated for a while to wait for the matte version, but it is on backorder. So I picked up the "glossy" version with the idea that it could always be returned if the appearance was disappointing.
However, we were pleasantly surprised, this record is not that shiny. So it was decided to keep it.

I connected the hob to 3 phases which was easy to do. Sealing tape stuck to the plate, and the plate placed in the worktop. What a difference with a gas hob, a nice sleek worktop.

Of course we bought new pans and immediately tried the plate. The operation is actually very simple and self-explanatory. The plate is spacious enough for us with 5 cooking zones.

What is also very nice is the possibility to link two zones so that an elongated zone is created on which you can place a grill plate.

We have been using the plate for a week now and are very satisfied with it. After registration with Etna you get a 5-year warranty, so that's great.
To protect the plate, we have purchased silicone mats on which you place the pans.
