JBL Quantum Stream Talk

The JBL Quantum Stream Talk is a compact streaming microphone. The box contains a microphone that is attached to a table stand and a USB cable. I connect the microphone to my laptop or PC via the USB cable. Design This is a compact streaming microphone with a sturdy base. This ensures that the Stream Talk stands firmly on the desk. I mute myself quickly with the mute button on the foot, so I mute myself with the push of a button. I cannot unscrew the Stream Talk and it cannot be used with a microphone arm. The USB C and 3.5 millimeter headphone output are located at the back of the base. This is especially useful when I place the microphone a little further away from me. If I move the microphone closer to myself, the cables are very present. Recordings The Stream Talk records sound from the front and has a supercardioid recording pattern. This ensures that everything is recorded clearly and well during my streams. For example, you hear clicking sounds during the recording if I sit directly in front of the microphone with the controller. You hear this very softly, but it is noticeable. Also because the microphone is always on my desk, I hear unwanted sound in my recording if, for example, I put something on my desk. JBL Quantum Engine The JBL Quantum Stream Studio gives me access to the JBL QuantumEngine software. With this software I personalize the recording sound of my streaming microphone. For example, I use the equalizer to perfect the recording sound. There is no noise reduction option with this microphone, which I think is a shame. I have been using this microphone for a few weeks now and am very happy with it. You simply connect it to the computer with the included USB-C cable and you can get started right away. It is very easy to use with only two buttons: one for mute/unmute and one for volume control. The colored ring around the microphone indicates its status: red for mute, green for unmute and blue during volume changes. The microphone is also made of metal and feels high-quality. You can tilt the top of the microphone to bring it more towards your mouth, but the height cannot be adjusted. When recording a podcast, the microphone delivers crystal clear sound and only picks up the sound coming directly from the front. This eliminates ambient noise during your recordings. It is also useful that you can always unmute in the software during a video call, because, as mentioned, you can operate the mute/unmute function directly on the microphone.

Tested this microphone for recording a podcast. Unfortunately, the included software does not work on my MacBook. But fortunately the microphone is quick to use and easy to operate with a single button. It took some time to figure out how the microphone should be positioned in relation to my mouth for the best sound, personally I like to place the microphone on some books. It really shouldn't be necessary to increase this, but for a better sound I did it anyway. After a few tries, the microphone works well. For this price it is a very nice microphone with a good sound.
