Description

Note: this DDR5 SODIMM memory only fits in a laptop, not in a desktop or Mac. The motherboard has to have a DDR5 connector. You can check that in Windows task manager, more details, under performance. A DDR5 memory module doesn't work with a DDR3 or DDR4 motherboard. In addition, you need at least a 12th generation Intel or Zen 4 AMD processor.

I recently bought a very fast laptop with a student discount. I travel a lot for work, so a laptop is a must for me. This laptop replaces its 10-year-old predecessor and is high-end in terms of specifications in everything except the RAM. Including the new RAM, my laptop is a lot more powerful/faster than my regular computer that I bought/built 3 years ago for a similar price, but excluding the discount the laptop would be 2.5x more expensive. Unless you happen to have the budget for a (still quite pricey) discount laptop that doesn't happen to have great RAM, I don't quite see where and when this 64GB DDR5 RAM really adds value to your laptop. If you have a budget, I would just build a fast desktop computer if I were you :-). Apart from that, in my specific situation this RAM is a perfect addition to the laptop, and for a reasonable price. If you have a similar situation, I definitely recommend him.

Took a long time for the laptop to recognize the memory

I have exchanged this module in combination with a Sodimm camm module in my Dell Precision 7770. Initially nothing happened. After waiting a bit longer the laptop finally started up. This after research by the camm adapter supplier. Earlier the Coolblue specialist thought that the memory cards might be broken. These were then exchanged by Coolblue without any problems. However, the solution turned out to be to wait longer. The laptop first checked the memory and then started up. The laptop now works a lot faster. Very satisfied with the memory cards.
