PocketBook Era 16GB Silver + Flip Book Case Black

The pre-installed software is decent (better than what Kobo has), but not enough for me, so I installed KOReader. Even though KOReader is not maintained for PocketBooks, it runs well. When the device goes in and out of sleep mode, KOReader sometimes wants to have the orientation wrong, but I have defined a gesture to reverse the orientation 180 degrees, so that problem is solved with one gesture. I had heard negative reports about the screen, but my copy provides a more than razor-sharp image with good contrast (KOReader allows things like contrast and font thickness to be adjusted very accurately). The screen lighting is good, although some weaker strengths than the current 1% could have been added, but the color warmth offers me too little red in the warmest setting. The design is very nice, but (as PocketBook itself says on a note supplied) a case is absolutely necessary in everyday life. There are cases that allow wireless charging, but I don't have one, so I don't know how well that would work. not me. The screen size is just enough for me to read PDFs in A4, after removing the margin (something that KOReader is good at). The battery is strong - several days of continuous reading without refilling is no problem. However, a few hours of browsing can completely drain a full battery. The device has 58,000 MB of memory, of which about 53,000 MB is available after deducting the pre-installed software.

The e-reader is perfect. I had the Inkpad Pro 3 before, it was pretty good, but the Era takes the cake. It is fast, sharp image, soft light. The e-reader is 7 inches. This is very nice to read. Ereader can be used in portrait or landscape orientation. It is easy to set up. It can handle many file formats, such as Epub and PDF, but it can also handle Kindle ebooks (KPF) just fine. You can easily set up the books in different ways: via the cable with the computer, via e-mail, via the Pocketbook cloud or via Dropbox. You don't need a subscription to upload books. In short: highly recommended! I'm a huge book addict, and this e-reader makes reading even more fun!

Had a PocketBook Touch HD3 for 2 years with a 6" screen that was actually just too small for manga's so I wanted a size bigger for a while but most were immediately 7.8" This was the perfect intermediate size with a clearly more premium finish in terms of screen and housing compared to the Touch HD3.
