Hitachi-LG GP57EB40 External DVD/CD Player and Burner Black

I urgently needed a CD burner because my old internal burner was failing. (2009 model) Now it turned out to be Sunday 1st Easter day and many webshops could not or hardly deliver during Easter. Found this external burner via Coolblue that could be delivered the next day. During Corona it is a gamble whether a webshop can live up to their delivery indication, but Coolblue kept its words! I was able to receive the package on Monday, Easter Monday via PostNL! Connected via USB and I could immediately continue burning without intermediate steps! Top! As for the burner, I was looking for a reliable brand and the market today is full of Chinese names and models that mean nothing to me. This burner is also made in China, but by Hitachi-LG, which gave me more confidence in the quality of the interior. In terms of sound, I have no complaints unless one is sensitive to high pitched noises. That is a maximum of 5 seconds when spinning, but if you are burning dozens of CDs, this can be experienced as disturbing. Furthermore, the player feels very light plastic and is therefore perhaps somewhat vulnerable. I also keep an eye on the spindle clips, small plastic pins with a spring that hold the CD. The ring is also sufficient to hold the CD if the clips no longer function. Then the connection, 1 USB cable instead of a separate power cable, which is definitely my preference. The cable and interface is USB 2.0 and given the writing speed, it has little added value to purchase a USB 3.0 burner for this. Great burner for the price!
