Pros and cons

According to our mouse expert

  • The mouse has a wireless connection without input lag (1ms) and when its battery is empty (after 24 hours of gaming), it's ready for another 10-hour gaming session after only 15 minutes of charging it.
  • This gaming mouse has a TrueSense3+ optical sensor for pixel-precise tracking and a depth sensor to precisely control the lift-off distance.
  • With 3 thumb buttons, you have the necessary skills, macros, and other functions at your disposal in every game.
  • You need external software from the manufacturer to set up the lighting optimally.

Description

The Steelseries Rival 650 Wireless Gaming Mouse combines the balance, sensor, and RGB lighting of its little brother, the Rival 600, with a wireless connection without lag and a quick-charging battery. The mouse has a connection of 1ms and, when its battery is empty, it's reayd for use after only 15 minutes of charging. With the fit of the Rival series, Steelseries maintain the gaming mouse style that many pro gamers have embraced for many years. There's also the possibility to place weights behind the side panels (96-128 grams), so the mouse will have exactly the balance you are looking for. The dual sensor (TrueSense3+) ensures 1-on-1 tracking for your flickshots and a depth sensor that detects exactly when you lift the mouse.

Works well, but bad update software.

  • One of the best mice on the market
  • Lots of dpi options
  • Nice in the hand
  • Pricey
I had the rival 650 for about a month and then it broke due to a steelseries software update. Fortunately I still had warranty and coolblue solved it for me. The mouse works great, too bad the first one I had broke so quickly.

perfect hybrid gaming mouse

  • fit
  • tracking
  • variable weight
perfect hybrid gaming mouse because it can also be used wired, and if you prefer to go wireless, you also have the option to use it via bluetooth, so you have plenty of options to use and because of the extra sensor that is there for when you, if you lift your mouse a little bit, you will still retain the connection and lose minimal tracking

I have never been this excited over a computer mouse

  • Excellent connectivity both wirelessly and via cable
  • 8 illumination zones
  • The accuracy of movement and lift-off is insanely good
  • Forward-most button on the side is far from thumb reach
I bought this mouse mostly for FPS games and despite being a trackball user (chronic disease), this mouse is still very comfortable even after long gaming sessions. It goes amazingly with my Apex Pro and together they are one killer combo (pun intended). Only real drawbacks are the weight (it’s rather heavy without the weights) and the battery life, although the latter is solved by the quick charging. Absolutely fantastic.

The right size for you: the 60% rule

How large is a mouse exactly? It's often difficult to see on a photo. That's why we thought of the thumb rule below.

Choose a mouse that takes up more than half of the surface of the dimensions of your hand. You can find the dimensions of the mouse under the specifications.

Your hands are often 2 times longer from your wrist to the tip of your middle finger than that it's wide from your little finger to the knuckle of your thumb. The closer the length and width a mouse come to 60% of the length and width of your hands, the more likely it is that the mouse feels comfortable in your hand.
