Top lens with acceptable price

  • Quality of the photos is exceptionally good
  • High quality materials and assembled to very high standards, resists dust and water splashes
  • The distortion of the image (due to the spherical lens) is very limited on the center line of the lens, which ensures that buildings are 'straight' in the photo if you want.
  • Fairly heavy lens, best to use a backpack if you use the lens for a day trip. Weighs heavy after long time when using shoulder or neck strap

I read dozens of detailed reviews about ultra-wide angle lenses before purchasing this lens. If ultra-wide angle, high image quality, a large aperture at an affordable price are important to you, then this lens is the best in the market. The Canon counterpart 11-24 F4L has only a few degrees more range and has an extra cost of 1600€ that is hardly justifiable. You can hardly distinguish the image quality between the Sigma and Canon lens. I would buy the Sigma lens again in a heartbeat.
