LG OLED65C46LA (2024) + Soundbar

Due to the high brightness and bright colors, I find the LG OLED55C46LA a very pleasant TV to watch. The slim design of the screen is really a luxurious and stylish addition to my interior.

High brightness with strong contrast
This LG OLED series is equipped with an OLED EVO screen. The peak brightness is 20% higher than a standard oLED screen. I hang the TV in my living room, which is very bright due to the many windows. I am very satisfied with the brightness of the display in broad daylight. Even in bright sunlight, the screen has high brightness and great contrast. This makes dark scenes of an exciting action film clearly visible. I am hardly bothered by reflections on the screen and therefore do not get distracted.

Lifelike colors with deep black levels
I immediately noticed that this OLED television has a colorful screen. In my spare time I like to relax with a beautiful nature documentary. This TV is a good choice for that. All the colors and textures from the jungle pop off the screen and are very realistic. The deep black levels through the OLED EVO screen are also a big plus for me. I like watching an exciting series or movie. Thanks to the OLED screen, I experience less blooming and I don't see a light glow in deep black parts.

Slim design
The sleek, slim design of this television really appeals to me. This makes the television a really stylish addition to my interior. The TV comes with 2 feet, so you can easily place it on furniture. I hung the TV myself with a wall bracket. This gives a spacious feeling in my living room.

Great sound
At the weekend I like to listen to music on the TV, so that I can do other things around the house in the meantime. I notice that the sound of the TV is very clear. Thanks to the Dolby Atmos function, I enjoy surround sound while watching a movie. I do miss the full and deep bass sounds, because there is no built-in soundbar or subwoofer in the TV. I therefore recommend purchasing this separately if you like good sound.

I had the opportunity to test this product for a few weeks (without paying), and here is my experience:

The LG Evo C4, despite minimal changes from the previous model, still delivers the familiar high quality of LG’s OLED TVs. The picture quality is impressive, with improved brightness, color reproduction and shadows. The refresh rate has been increased to 144Hz, which will appeal to PC gamers in particular. The viewing angles are excellent, even at extreme angles, although some users report a greenish tint—I didn’t experience this myself. One thing this model misses is the MLA technology, which could have provided a higher brightness.
As for the sound, the quality is reasonable for TV speakers, although you will notice, especially at lower tones, that a soundbar or external speakers would improve the sound considerably. The TV is solidly built, with a metal front and a plastic back, where the ports are also located. The back of the panel has a stylish black-marble finish. The TV has four HDMI 2.1 ports, three USB 2.0 ports and an Ethernet connection.
The WebOS operating system offers a comprehensive feature set, with many picture quality settings and support for Dolby Vision, AirPlay, Miracast, Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync. You can control the TV with the remote control, voice, or by making gestures on the remote control, similar to a Wii. A downside of WebOS is the prominence of advertisements and AI features, which somewhat diminishes the user experience, especially considering the price range of this TV.
While the LG C4 is a good choice, the G3 and even the C3 currently offer better value for money. The G3 has better picture quality, a lower price and a 5-year warranty on the panel. The C3 offers similar performance for a considerably lower price. In summary: the C4 is a solid TV, but is currently overshadowed in terms of price and features by the C3 and G3.

In the past few weeks we have been able to test this television at our home and we are actually very enthusiastic. Immediately upon unpacking the television, it is noticeable how beautiful and 'premium' the television is. The back is made of a kind of stone-like material it seems and the television is really incredibly thin.

The most important thing about a television is of course the image quality. It is just really very good. As is known about OLED screens, black images are really black and the other colours also really splash off the screen. The television also has various settings for the image, such as the filmmaker mode, where colours are displayed as they were really intended by the maker, which gives a very nice effect.

The sound of the television is not its strongest point, but we have a soundbar at home, so this did not bother us. For normal television viewing, the sound is really more than fine and it is very easy to live with. If you are going to watch a film with more action scenes, for example, it is advisable to buy a soundbar or something similar.

The TV is of course also a smart TV and you can actually expect quite a lot from it. All the apps I could think of that I wanted were simply available. In addition, everything responds very quickly and smoothly, making it a nice device to watch all series and films.

The television comes with a remote control that you can not only use as a normal remote control with buttons, but you can also use it as a kind of mouse where the arrow on the screen actually follows your movement like with a Wii in the past. I think that works very well.

All in all, it is just a very nice TV that really delivers very good performances and is definitely worth recommending.
