I tested the Eufy E340 doorbell with chime. This doorbell is suitable for every situation. Do you already have wiring near the door? Then you connect the doorbell wired. If you don't feel like doing that, do it wirelessly. In addition, this doorbell also works stand-alone, so without Homebase. Do you already have a Homebase 3 at home? Then you can enjoy extra storage and smart AI functions. In the box I find the doorbell, the chime and the mounting materials. There is a manual included, but most things are self-explanatory. I attach the mounting plate in the right place, after which I first set the doorbell indoors via the Eufy app. I select the doorbell in the app and connect it to my WiFi network. I also get the option to connect it to the Homebase 3 that I also have at home. At first I decide to only connect it to my WiFi network. This means that I also use the internal memory of the doorbell. The camera has 8GB built-in memory. If you save images in high quality, this will be full quite quickly. Fortunately, you not only choose 2K, but also 1080p recording. Then you sacrifice image quality to store more images. The images are crystal clear, and the colors are displayed beautifully. I place the doorbell next to the front door and check the app to see if I can see all the images correctly. The advantage of the E340 is that I can also see the sidewalk. This way I get a complete picture, and I can also see a package on the sidewalk. For convenience, I opt for a wireless installation, because I have no wiring to the front door. This means that I have to charge the battery every now and then. I notice that the doorbell sometimes has a slightly slower WiFi connection. This is important to include in your decision for any video doorbell. My router is just too far from the front door, which makes my internet slow. So I choose to connect the doorbell to the Homebase 3, after which the problem is immediately solved. After this I have a stable connection. I also get extra image storage. Bottom line, I am very satisfied with the doorbell. You can get started right away with the package and you don't need a subscription. If you want, you can enjoy a better connection, extra storage and smart AI functions with the Homebase 3.
