Pancakes brown evenly

Baking pancakes is a profession in itself, also with this pan. Although it is sometimes made easier for you, such as with the dot that indicates that the pan is hot enough, the pan also has a few disadvantages, such as the convexity of the pan itself. The dot really makes a difference: I usually waited until the butter was burnt and then threw that butter away. That is no longer necessary. The protective layer allows you to bake the pancakes without butter. A dash in the batter does help to make them a bit more creamy, but it doesn't matter for the result. The pan is a bit higher in the middle, and then slopes down on the sides. That means you have to be careful to let the batter flow out of your spoon in the middle of the pan. From there it spreads, but not always very evenly. If you use too little batter, you end up with a pancake in a strange shape: more of a square blob than a nice round Frisbee disc. If you do add enough batter, you run the risk that the pancake is already cooked in the middle, but not yet at the ends. If you want to turn that cake, the undercooked batter will sometimes end up next to the pan. Brush again. According to one, the pan is not dishwasher safe, according to the other it is. My point of view is: every pan is dishwasher safe and if we notice that it is not, we replace it. So far the pan has been in the dishwasher about five times and although it doesn't dry up nicely, it tolerates that just fine. In case you're wondering: we sometimes bake an omelette or fried egg in this pan, because that's very easy without butter. I can't say anything about the durability after five times: fortunately no teenager has yet used a fork to chip away at the egg. Maybe that good non-stick coating will help!

After many unsuccessful pancakes in a pan that is just not suitable for it, the Tefal pancake pan is a relief on my induction hob. Give the pan time to heat up really well (Thermo signal is great) and you hardly need to use oil or butter. Of course, the first always fails in this pan, but the pancakes are quickly nicely browned. The size is quite large and I think the price is on the high side, but the pancake comes off nicely without sticking. Recommended!
