Tapo P115 Smart Plug 3-pack

I have been using these plugs for a good year now and notice that I am using them more and more.

Some things I don't want to miss them anymore:

• Automatically switch lights on and off, the house always looks inhabited and you do not come home in the dark (circuit diagram);
• Remote control of the irrigation pump, especially useful for adjusting sprinklers, but also to let the pump run for a few hours and then stop automatically (count-down timer);
• Gain more insight into our energy consumption (current use, but also historical use accurate to use in kWh per hour).

What particularly appeals to me:

• The app/control responds quickly;
• You can also choose a number of hours/minutes before or after sunrise/sunset as a switching time in a schedule (the app therefore temporarily asks to switch on the location during installation);
• They are wonderfully inconspicuous due to their small size;
• Despite the fact that the button to switch them on or off manually is also small, you will quickly find it blind after a short use.

Tips:

• To protect your privacy, connect these plugs to a guest network;
• During installation: if you use a private VPN, pause it briefly.

After downloading the app and creating an account, I was able to name the plugs one by one. The app works well and simply. Setting a schedule to turn on or off at certain times was also simple. And they can be linked to Google Home so that you can switch them on or off with voice control. What I also use them for is monitoring the energy consumption of two electric heaters; Consumption can be read for the current day as well as for the past months and year, also in graph form. I am very satisfied and will buy a few more.

Snrl and easy to connect. The consumption data shows you the real consumption and provides more insight into your energy consumption. I switch Christmas lights outside on and off at variable times when we are away.
