Take a good look at what you need!

  • You provide a USB3 port

Not recommended for MAC users. You hand in a USB 3 port for an HDMI. You think you will get a USB-3 port back, but this is only a USB connection for power, not data. USB-2 connection does work for data.

I bought this for several Android devices that according to current fashion only have a USB-C port. You can listen to or charge audio via that USB-C port, but not both at the same time. This adapter will not help much with that, I saw that such a functionality must be supported by the USB controller. Preferably you plug in the audio first, so that Android sees it as an adapter that requires power, and then the charging cable. But Android can then get confused, and will suddenly stop charging or suddenly interrupt the audio, or switch modes continuously.

Just get a longer USB cable and a shorter HDMI cable. Then everything worked out nicely.
