Description
The NETGEAR GC510P is a network switch you can mount in a server rack. Configure and install this switch via an app on your smartphone or tablet. With this app, you can even set up advanced functions. You control all switches in your network at the same time with the app. Thanks to Power over Ethernet+, you can supply power to your devices, such as access points and IP cameras. Use an SFP module to connect this switch directly to a fiber-optic connection to create a super-fast internet connection. With this switch you can connect 2 network ports to each other. This way, you can set up a connection that is twice as fast with servers or network drives. Set up as many as 256 virtual networks, so you can decide exactly who gets access to which part of your business network.

Good product if you disable cloud-based management
- stable and reliable
- supports client isolation
- supports a captive portal, of the sort commonly seen in hotels
- cloud based management is a hindrance
The cloud portal offers the facility to manage the AP admin logins, either on a site-wide or AP-specific basis. As this is meant to be - laughingly - an enterprise-grade product, I stuck with the site-wide account management. AP's admin login did not get updated no matter how many times I tried to configure a username and password on the cloud portal.
Then I looked at wireless authentication/encryption options. All I could find in the cloud portal was open (no encryption) or WPA2 with a passphrase. No sign of RADIUS, or WPA2 Enterprise, or any other form of authentication other than the most basic. Fine for a home user, but not encouraging for an allegedly enterprise-grade bit of kit.
Then I switched to local management options, disabling the cloud stuff and everything appears. All the options I was searching for were there, even WPA2 Enterprise or RADIUS,... And it appears to be then a very good product :)
