Perfect, as expected. But expensive.

Overkill for most users (would opt for the Max IX Prime then). Formula offers additional water cooling features and design. Chosen for a special project. Nothing to complain about. It is an expensive product, but you get what you expect. It is well packed, the manual is complete and comprehensive, a number of SATA cables and other accessories are included. Keep in mind the price. If you've already spent $400 on a motherboard, you're probably not going to put any cheap stuff in here either. You quickly lose +€3000 for everything together (including monitor), which is very expensive for a PC. And ASUS Aura RGB Sync certainly doesn't help. Your preference will quickly turn to other more expensive components that also have this function (GPU, Monitor, Case, Keyboard + Mouse (€400 for ASUS Claymore and Spatha)). Also search the QVL (Qualified Vendor List) for compatible RAM DDR4 memory. Available at asus.com. Not all RAM is compatible with the MB.

It's a great board for gaming and overclocking.

  • Easy Overclock
  • Easy Install
  • 2 Extra RGB Headers for RGB lighting
  • RGB Software can be a bit buggy

This motherboard is great, overclocking is easy and simple, installation was easy. The extra RGB Headers are great for people with RGB strips and other RGB elements as they can also be controlled with AURA. Overclocking was easy, I was able to get my I7 7700K to 5ghz with a single value change. Finding the extra software like "Sonic Radar" or "Sonic Studio" can be annoying to find as they are hidden in the audio drivers on the driver page. Another annoying thing was that the RGB Control Software (AURA)would reset when you shut the pc down unless you add a startup task to start up the actual AURA application. I did have a problem with the voltage control. After setting it to 1.4+ and restarting the computer, to set the voltage back to under 1.4 I had to "load default settings" before being able to change it. It wasn't a real problem as it didn't mess with the actual voltage. it can just be slightly annoying when your overclocking.
