Wahoo TICKR X

Excellent heart rate monitor with unique additional features. The memory is especially useful to be able to write data to the phone afterwards.

Since I wanted to walk a bit more and already used an app, I decided to look for a heart rate sensor. I personally run with Nike+ running and wahoo works with this as well.

I was the first to compare this heart rate sensor with polar. Went on a polar bike with the physiotherapist and compared the heart rate with my wahoo tickr x and they match, sometimes a heartbeat higher or lower, but you see that they give the same heart rate after a short time, so I consider this to be reliable.

The wahoo fitness app that you can download for free has a lot of options, you can really enter many different types of sports, walk cycling swimming snowboarding...everything... They also give them a map where you have walked, duration, distance, heart rate, burn (fat burning) and burst (building muscle mass). These values depend on your condition and age. You can easily set this up with a walk test and enter your age, just do what the device says.

Also pace (min/km) ground contact are communicated calorie burning, in other words, very extensive.

Graphically I find it less powerful than Nike+ it's nice to have all this info but not everything is useful when running. You can also get this info in cvs (excel) and other formats forward to pc.

Now some negatives

price is quite high, don't be surprised if you take it out of the letterbox, it's just a small plastic thing that weighs nothing (again positive actually)

doesn't work well with all apps yet

You can upload your data in different apps, this is also not really accurate yet eg I did a test run of 2.17 km, forwarded it to nike+. Nike+ made it 2,168.58 km.

All in all satisfied, the two top errors are more software errors and could be fixed with updates.

The Tickr X connects quickly and is comfortable to wear. I think the Wahoo app itself is a bit limited and the readability of the training results is less convenient on your phone. There is unfortunately no desktop app from Wahoo. You can, however, share the data with Garmin connect, for example, and then you can study the results on a laptop or desktop. The memory function also works well. Keep in mind that not all data is remembered (only heart rate and time). Cadence/movement is only registered if you are connected to the Wahoo app during training
