The Sigma 105mm f/2.8 Macro lens for Nikon SLR cameras is suitable for macro, portrait, and nature photography. The lens has SLD lens elements, which prevents chromatic aberrations. This ensures a high sharpness, natural colors, and optimal contrast. In addition, the HSM motor provides a super fast autofocus which you can manually use for precise focus as well. This allows you to accurately photograph fast-moving subjects like a butterfly. The lens also prevents shocks and movements thanks to the built-in image stabilization so you get a 4-stop advantage.

Once you can handle a macro lens, you can take really sharp pictures of small things. Such as insects, plants, details on other things, ... Also very suitable for portrait photos. Highly recommended for a hobby photographer.

Strong macro lens with razor-sharp photos

  • Razor sharp in wide f/- range
  • 1:1 macro capability
  • Also excellently usable as a mid-telephoto lens (105mm) with high brightness f/2.8
  • OS demands more from the battery. However, it can easily be turned off when unnecessary.

I bought this lens to get acquainted with macro photography. With a 1:1 ratio to your sensor, this lens makes razor-sharp images of small insects/flowers/... and fills the screen! Even photographing pepper or salt becomes fun and surprising in this way. The wonderful bokeh that is created by the very limited depth of field with full macro provides you with beautiful, soft backgrounds. This lens is also suitable as a bright mid-telephoto lens and/or portrait lens. As far as I'm concerned, this lens has become indispensable in my lens collection.
