Freecom Mobile Drive Classic 3.0 1TB

I was looking for an external hard drive with 1TB memory and USB 3.0 as requirements. After some comparisons with other devices, I finally came up with the Freecom Mobile Drive Classic 3.0 1TB. The low price and the previous satisfied customers were the deciding factors. Once I got the external HDD, it was child's play to use it. In combination with Time Machine (which is standard on an Apple MacBook), it automatically makes backup copies of the entire laptop, which can easily be found on the external HDD. It also works very well on a desktop/laptop with a Windows operating system.

There have been a lot of reviews about this product already and most of them are positive, the rare comments proved to be accurate too: - Formatted as FAT by default; but no problem to switch to ntfs. - The connection quality over the supplied short cable is not very stable; is also correct. I immediately returned the first disk purchased to customer service because the connection was easily lost with a small movement on the connection. The disc I got instead turned out to work just a little better once I got home, but not so much. Not really a problem for me since I will only use it as a backup at home, but as portable storage it is not very suitable

I was looking for a light, small and quiet external drive with decent connections. After some googling I decided to buy this disc. I haven't regretted it for a moment. In one night I formatted it to NTFS, because I mainly use this drive for video material. That's why I want to be able to easily take the Freecom with me. I don't have USB 3.0 yet, but with USB 2.0 it's fast enough for me too. The connections are solid. The cable too, so solid that it is a bit stiff and does not want to come out of the creases. I think that's a small minus. I still have to look for a case, too bad it wasn't included. Other than that, very satisfied.
