What's a pocket printer and how does it work?
What's a pocket printer?
The name already says it, a pocket printer is a small printer you can easily take with you to print photos with. A Polaroid camera is the forerunner of the pocket printer. With this camera, you can also print photos directly. The advantage of the compact size is that you can take the printer anywhere with you. When you take a nice photo at a party with your smartphone, you can print it right away.
How does a pocket printer work?
If you want to print photos, you can connect the pocket printer to your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. You do need WiFi, Bluetooth, or a USB cable for this. Some pocket printers work with ink, other pocket printers use a technology that doesn't require ink. These printers use zinc paper that has color crystals. The paper looks colorless. The printer heats up the color crystals during printing, after which the colors develop. Because the printers are wireless, they have a battery.
Which functions does a pocket printer have?
With most pocket printers, you can also edit your photos. You can add fun frames, filters, and texts, for example. If the paper has a self-adhesive back, you can store your memories in a photo album or create a photo wall. With the stickers, you can also decorate your school calendar, laptop, or smartphone case.
