Solve problems with your CI+ module
Set up the CI+ module the right way
Are you going to set up the CI+ module again, because it wasn't successful the first time? Remove the module from the TV when you make the TV search for the signal.
- Step 1: check the frequency information in the menu
- Step 2: check if the smart card is inserted in the module the right way
- Step 3: check the coax cable
- Step 4: check if you're using the right CI+ module
- Step 5: contact your provider
Step 2: check if the smart card is inserted in the module the right way
Check if the smart card from your provider is inserted in the CI+ module the right way. You can usually find instructions on the module itself. Make sure you insert the smart card in the module with the golden chip first. Also check if the module is properly installed in the TV. Be careful and don't force the CI+ module into the input of the TV. You might damage the module.
Step 3: check the coax cable
If you don't receive public broadcasting channels either, the problem is likely either the TV signal that's received or the coax cable. Check if the coax cable is properly plugged in on both ends and if the cable isn't damaged anywhere. You can also try to connect the TV to the main connector via a different coax cable.
Step 4: check if you're using the right CI+ module
With most providers, you need a 1.3 or 1.4 version CI+ model. A 1.2 version is outdated and is no longer supported. If you've recently received a module from your provider, you can be sure that it's a recent version. You can often see the version on the label of the module. Isn't it indicated or can't you find it? Contact your provider.
Step 5: contact your provider
Did you follow these steps and do you still not get all of the channels? Contact your provider. They'll help you solve the problem and will provide you with a new smart card or CI+ module.
