How do you use Miele TwinDos?

This is how you use the Miele TwinDos washing machine:

• Step 1. Decide whether you'll use your own detergent.
• Step 2a. Install the TwinDos reservoirs.
• Step 2b. Install your own refill reservoirs.
• Step 3. Change the detergent type.
• Step 4. Maintain your Miele washing machine.
• Step 5. Buy new reservoirs when you run out.

Every TwinDos washing machine includes 2 reservoirs with Miele detergent, UltraPhase 1 and 2. Bottle 1 contains liquid detergent, which removes common stains. Bottle 2 contains bleach for stubborn stains. Prefer to use your own detergent? Buy Miele refill reservoirs, which you can reuse. You can refill these empty white reservoirs yourself and place them at the bottom of the washing machine. Via the display, you can set what the reservoirs contain. After that, the washing machine will dose the right amount.

1. Turn on the washing machine, select the 'Katoen' cycle, and press 'OK' to set up TwinDos.
2. Press 'OK' several times until you can set the number of millimeters per cycle.
3. Set the right number of millimeters for you laundry. With very dirty laundry, set a higher number according to the wash label.
4. Set the dosing amount for reservoir 2 in the same way.
5. Remove the aluminum foil from the TwinDos bottles.
6. Push the lid in the bottom right of the washing machine.
7. Place reservoir 1 and 2 next to each other.
8. Push the bottles in and close the lid.
9. Run the first cycle with an empty drum, so the washing machine can set the bottles properly.

1. Fill the empty reservoirs with your own detergent or fabric softener.
2. Open the lid at the bottom right and place bottle 1 and 2 next to each other.
3. Tap the 2 arrows on the display at the same time.
4. Choose 'Dosage unit', 'Type & amount', and select the detergent for reservoir 1.
5. You can choose from a universal detergent, fabric softener, and more.
6. If you're laundry is very dirty, you can adjust the amount of detergent with the arrows.
7. Set the detergent or fabric softener for reservoir 2 in the same way.
8. Exit the menu by tapping both arrows at the same time

You can use the refill reservoirs to change the detergent type in between. Set up the display and tap the 2 arrows at the same time. Choose 'Dosage unit', 'Type & amount', and select the detergent type you have. Don't forget to rinse the TwinDos hoses when you change detergent types. Read how to do this in step 4. There are also Miele CapDosing capsules for wool or silk, for example. Add 1 capsule per wash cycle. Tap the 'Cap' sensor button when you use this.

It's important to maintain the TwinDos system. If you don't use the reservoirs for longer than 2 months, you have to rinse the hoses with TwinDos care. When you're going traveling, for example. This prevents blocked hoses and the detergent from getting lumpy or dry. Turn on the cleaning cycle to rinse the hoses with TwinDos Care. You can also use the maintenance product if you switch from Miele detergent to refill reservoirs.

Once your UltraPhase 1 and 2 bottles are empty, buy new ones. A pack for 6 months or a year is more affordable than buying separate reservoirs. In addition, you won't run out of detergent as quickly with a pack. So you won't have to run to the store any time soon.
