3 tips for when your induction cooktop isn't heating your pans
3 tips if your pans don't heat up
Don't your pans heat up on your induction cooktop? Read the following 3 tips:
- Tip 1. Check the bottom.
- Tip 2. Check the size of the cooking zone.
- Tip 3. Check the power management function.
Tip 1: check the bottom
Check whether the bottom of the pan is magnetic. To do this, hold a magnet to the bottom of the pan. Does it stick to the bottom? That means it's magnetic and suitable for an induction cooktop. If the magnet doesn't stick the bottom, the pan isn't suitable for an induction cooktop.
Tip 2: check the size of the cooking zone
If the pan is larger than the cooking zone, it won't heat up properly. Only the part of the pan that's on the cooking zone gets warm. As a result, the food in the pan doesn't warm up properly and only parts of your pan will be hot. That's why you should place the pan on a cooking zone that's as large as the bottom of the pan.
Tip 3: check the connector type
Induction cooktops you connect to 1 phase or 2 phases with power management aren't as powerful. The cooktop doesn't have enough power for you to use all cooking zones at the highest setting. That's why it takes longer for all the pans to heat up. Did you set all cooking zones to the highest settings? Either not every cooking zone will be as hot or the setting of each cooking zone will be much lower.
