You replace the water filter once every 3 months. The water filter communicates with the coffee machine via Bluetooth. You'll see a notification on the display when your water filter needs to be replaced. This smart water filter works in a very targeted way and prevents 99% of the limescale, which means descaling isn't really necessary anymore. This saves you work. But, it's important you replace the filter in time. You can use the Claris Smart water filter by JURA for this.

Step 1. remove the old water filter

on the display, the water filter replacement icon appears at the bottom center.
take the water tank out of the machine and empty it in the sink.
remove the old water filter from the water tank with the included attachment.
turn the water filter counterclockwise and take it out of the machine.
place the new water filter in the empty water tank. Turn the water filter clockwise until you hear it click.

Step 2: rinse the water filter

fill the water tank up to 'max' with fresh water and place it back into the coffee machine.
the display first displays 'Saved'. Then 'Open switch'.
place a container with at least 500ml capacity where the water comes out.
turn the switch from the 'I' to the coffee cup with drops.
the machine thoroughly rinses the water filter and stops this automatically after a couple of seconds.
'Close switch' appears on the display. Turn the switch back to 'I'.
remove the container and empty it.
the water filter of your JURA E6 has been installed successfully.
