- The Neo AI Quantum Processor 8K converts all the images to the 8K resolution.
- You connect peripherals to the TV with 1 transparent cable via the sleekly designed Slim One Connect Box.
- This television has a lower peak brightness than the Samsung Neo QLED 65QN900A (2021).
First impression of the QN800B
The first time I look at the QN800B, I directly notice the 18mm, thin design of the television. Thanks to the One Connect Box, there's just one transparent cable coming from the TV. This looks very organized and neat. The self-charging and minimalist-looking SolarCell One Remote is also included with the TV.
Sharp and strong contrast
While I'm watching a nature documentary, I notice the sharpness of the image right away. I see all the details razor-sharp thanks to the 8K resolution, like the different leaves in the trees and the details in the rocks in the background. Thanks to QLED, the image of the TV has a strong contrast. As a result, the really dark shadow of the trees really stands out from the bright-green leaves in the sunlight. The peak brightness of 2000 nits comes out well with these images.
Better image quality thanks to 8K upscaler
The disadvantage of 8K is that not much is available in this quality yet. Thanks to the Neo Quantum Processor 8K with 8K AI Upscaling, the TV can convert the images to 8K resolution. The quality isn't as goo das with regular 8K images, but it's a large difference. The colors come out better and eyes look more realistic. Full HD images won't be upscaled while looking live TV.
A very wide viewing angle
When I view the television from the side, the image is still clearly visible. Thanks to the Ultra Viewing Angle, the image still has good quality, even at an angle. I watch images in a brightly-lit room and I barely notice any reflections. That's the result of the anti-glare layer on the screen. Thanks to this, you can enjoy a movie with a lot of dark scenes during the day.
Slim design
The QN800B is a really slim television with a slim stand. Thanks to the Infinity One Design, the television is barely 17mm thick. As a result, you can place it almost flat against the wall. The thin design comes out best when you hang the TV on the wall. Thanks to the cutouts on the back of the TV, you can hang it tightly against the wall.
Sound around you
I test the sound of the television by watching an action scene with a car in it. Thanks to Object Tracking Sound +, the sound follows the action on the screen. As a result, the sound moves along with the car. Dolby Atmos aims the sound upwards too. It feels like the plane of the image is flying right above my head because of this. The combination of these 2 techniques offer an immersive sound experience that really keeps me focused.
Remote without batteries

The SolarCell One Remote
-
The remote charges in the light.
The SolarCell One Remote is a useful remote. It's comfortable to hold and doesn't have many buttons. I can still navigate through the menu and channels easily. The remote has buttons for Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime, which makes it even more user-friendly. This allows me to easily navigate from one series to another. This remote also charges itself with both artificial and sunlight. Thanks to this, buying batteries is a thing of the past.
Conclusion
It's very clear as to why the QN800B is the showpiece of the year by Samsung. This 8K television displays razor-sharp, colorful, and detailed images. Thanks to the 8K AI Upscaling, the quality of each source is upgraded to 8K quality. That way, you can get the most out of your 4K movies and series. In combination with the immersive sound, the wide viewing angle, the anti-glare layer, and the sleek design, this television is clearly one of the best of the year. With this TV, you're prepared for the future.
