Expert review Apple Watch Series 9
Apple Watch Series 9

- Control it with a simple double tap of your index finger and thumb.
- Useful, interactive widgets.
- The battery only lasts 1 day.
First impression of Apple Watch Series 9
The Apple Watch Series 9 comes in the same packaging as its predecessors. The watch case also looks the same. I tested the 45mm version of the Series 9. This size was too big for my wrist, so the watch wasn't very comfortable. The battery life is still the same as that of its predecessor. The Series 9 lasts an entire day, which isn't very long. I have to charge the Apple Watch at night. The screen is bright and I can still easily read it when the sun shines on it.
'Double Tap' on the Apple Watch Series 9
With the Double Tap function, you can control your new Apple Watch Series 9 without touching it. If I quickly tap my thumb and pointer finger together twice, I can easily answer my phone or pause my music. I don't use the function very often because I don't really like controlling my Apple Watch this way. The function is useful if you have your hands full and can't control your watch.
Smart functions on your Apple Watch
I use the smart functions of the Apple Watch the most. I can easily switch between different apps like 'Music' and 'Google Maps'. In addition, I can answer messages or control my music via the Apple Watch very easily. I also use my Apple Watch to make calls. This works well if you're in a silent space and quickly want to call someone. For long calls, I'd rather use my iPhone.
Sports and health functions
I'm not a sports enthusiast myself, but I do like to check up on my health. I regularly check my Apple Watch to see how many steps I've taken in a day or if I've slept enough. In the 'Workout app', I keep track of my walking distance. After my walk, I view the results in the 'Health app' on my iPhone.
Conclusion
Are you looking for a smartwatch that's an extension of your iPhone? The Apple Watch Series 9 is a good choice for you. I never miss notifications and can easily control my iPhone from my wrist. The new 'Double Tap' function works well and is useful if I have my hands full. The battery only lasts a day, so I do have to charge it every night.
