How does our upgrade service work?

You'll receive the trade-in value of your old device as a discount on a new one, or you can trade it in for CoolblueCredit.

Buy a new smartphone, tablet, MacBook, Apple Watch, or AirPods on our website and have it delivered to your home. Transfer all data from your old device to your new device. You can then return your old device within 30 days. You'll receive the trade-in value as a discount on your new device. The amount will be transferred to your account within 7 working days.
Do you have a smartphone, tablet, MacBook, Apple Watch, or AirPods you no longer use? If you hand in this product in the store, you'll receive CoolblueCredit. You can spend this credit on our website or in the store. It doesn't matter what kind of product you buy with the credit.

Is your current device slow, or do you prefer to have the latest of the latest? Trade in your device for the latest Apple iPhone or Samsung Galaxy, for example.

Tablet upgrade

What's the value of my old device?

We'll take a look at the condition and model of the device. The expert in the store determines how much you receive. Tap or click on 'Calculate your trade-in value'. You'll receive an estimate of the trade-in value.

Can I trade in my device without a new purchase?

Yes, that's possible. If you have a smartphone, tablet, MacBook, Apple Watch, or AirPods you don't use, simply hand it in at one of our stores. If you do so, the trade-in value of the device turns into CoolblueCredit. We'll add this credit to your account within 3 working days. After that, you can use it for a new purchase online or in the store. It doesn't matter what kind of product you buy with the CoolblueCredit.

What's CoolblueCredit?

With CoolblueCredit, you can buy products online or in the store. The credit is linked to your account and will automatically be deducted in your shopping cart. You'll have the credit in your account within 3 days after trade-in. It's valid for 1 year.

Which devices can I trade in and where can I do this?

You trade in your smartphone, tablet, MacBook, Apple Watch, or AirPods in the store with us. It doesn't matter which brand you trade in, except for laptops, smartwatches, and earbuds. We only accept MacBook, Apple Watch, and AirPods. You have up to 30 days after your purchase to trade in your device.

What happens with my device after I trade it in?

If the device is still in good condition, we'll give it a second life. If it's not, we'll recycle the device. This makes our upgrade service sustainable and better for the environment.

Do you have to have purchased your device at Coolblue to be able to trade it in?

No, that's not necessary. You can also trade in your smartphone, tablet, MacBook, Apple Watch, or AirPods with us if you bought it at a different store.
