Apple MacBook Air with M4 chip
The new M4 chip is more powerful than its predecessors. That's because of the higher number of central cores and the better Neural Engine. A Neural Engine is a type of AI accelerator. This allows you to easily perform AI tasks with your MacBook Air, such as machine learning. M4 also supports up to 2 monitors with a 6K resolution, without closing your MacBook. You can do all of this with an 18-hour battery life.
New color and improved camera
For the first time in years, Apple introduced a new color: Sky Blue. This fresh color replaces the color Space Gray. The camera is updated as well. With the 12-megapixel Center Stage Camera, you're always clearly visible. This camera also has a special Center Stage technology, so you're always in the center of the screen. That's useful when you're moving from side to side, for example. This camera also supports Desk View. That way, you can easily show the overhead view of your desk during a brainstorm.
Differences compared to the Apple MacBook Air M3
What stands out right away, is the new Sky Blue color. The MacBook Air M3 was available in Space Gray instead. Additionally, everything you do is even faster and smoother thanks to the powerful M4 chip. The starter model of the MacBook Air M4 starts at 16GB RAM. With the M3, this was 8GB. The M4 chip and the M3 chip both support up to 2 external monitors. The advantage of the M4 is that you don't have to close your MacBook. This is the case with the M3.
