Pros and cons

According to our monitor expert

  • You can see more of the playing field or can use multiple windows at the same time on the ultrawide screen.
  • Thanks to the curved screen, you can fully immerse yourself in your game.
  • You can enjoy sharp images and colors thanks to the QHD OLED screen with HDR support.
  • This monitor doesn't have built-in speakers for the sound of your games or music.
  • An ultrawide monitor takes up a lot of space, so your desk needs to be large enough.

Description

Fully immerse yourself in your game with this LG UltraGear OLED 34GS95QE-B 34-inch Ultrawide OLED QHD Gaming Monitor. You can game with smooth images thanks to the 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time. The curved ultrawide screen curves around your field of view. This way, you see more of the playing field and you strain your neck and eyes less. Do you have an AMD or NVIDIA video card? The G-Sync or FreeSync adjusts the fps of your video card to the refresh rate of your monitor. This allows you to play your games with smooth images, without screen tearing or flickering. Thanks to the DisplayHDR 400 display with a 1-billion color depth, you have a wide color representation and a high contrast. All necessary parts of the screen are lit with local dimming, so the black levels of your screen have an even stronger contrast.

Note: the maximum refresh rate via HDMI is 144Hz. For 250Hz gaming, you need to connect the monitor via the DisplayPort.

An immersive monitor that forgets the 16:9 aspect ratio!

  • Excellent HDR color reproduction
  • Big screen!
  • Gaming at 165 hertz or lower resolution at 330 hertz
  • Both sides of the monitor dim slightly than the center

I've been searching for a really good ultrawide monitor for a long time. I always had an eye for LG ultrawide monitors, but the pixel density and resolution issues with previous models held me back. This monitor has definitely taken a step up in terms of pixel density (50% more than previous models) and 5120 x 2160 resolution. 45 inches is really quite large, so make sure your desk has enough space. HDR color reproduction is truly excellent! SDR isn't too bad in terms of color; some colors weren't quite as accurate, but using the Nvidia app to convert SDR videos to HDR content, the colors are reasonably accurate. The dual mode has eight different modes you can set, including the lower resolution (2560 x 1080) for gaming at 330 Hz. For 5120 x 2160 gaming at 165 Hz, you'll need a powerful graphics card with at least 16 GB of VRAM. If you have a slightly lower resolution, you can game at 3440 x 1440, but the 165Hz setting remains the same.

I also noticed that both sides of the monitor dim slightly more than the center, especially the HUD layout. This isn't a bug, but normal. It's not excessive, as most of the screen is visible from the center. It does brighten up at certain times. This is my first OLED monitor, so I'm not sure if others have the same issue, but after extended use, the monitor automatically performs an image cleanup to prevent burn-in when the PC shuts down.

Extremely curved

  • Big
  • Beautiful OLED contrast in image
  • Power supply is large and heavy

I don't like it because it's more at home on the cockpit of the USS Enterprise than on my desk
