Second Chance De'Longhi Water Filter

The question that is still open is whether this filter is really necessary!? I taste NO difference with or without using the filter; maybe the water quality here is too good :-)

I will therefore most certainly not buy a new filter after replacing this filter.

The water filter is unnecessary (if you descale at least every two to three months, because that is all this expensive filter does and according to the user manual of the device you should continue to do this despite the filter being installed. in the user manual that the filter also needs to be replaced if you do not use the device for some time.That is because there are a kind of stones in the filter. When you empty the water tank and go on holiday, those stones dry out and they can come loose the next time you use it and end up everywhere in your machine and cause major damage! Hardly anyone knows that. For this reason, the filter is even advised against, including by the Coffee discounter. For the taste, the filter is not necessary at all and devices from other brands, without a filter, also work fine and they live just as long.

You have to decide for yourself the sense or nonsense of using the water filter. The product itself works properly, easy to install and easy to indicate to the device that it has a new one. It is important to know that the device never keeps track of how much water has flowed through the filter, but only the number of days it has been in the device. in other words every 2 months you have to replace it, whether the filter has been used a lot or not. For 1 coffee per day, this amounts to €0.33/coffee. If you're doing it to replace the life of the machine, you should know that in roughly 4 years you've spent 500€ on filters, enough for a new machine...
