How can you insure your product?
On the product page, you can see which Backup Plans we have for your product. You can choose one in your shopping cart. You always purchase a Backup Plan at the same time as the product you want to insure. In the store, we can insure your product within 30 days after your purchase. You may get a new product in that case. After 30 days and for large products like washing machines and large televisions, that's not possible.

What am I not insured for in case of other devices?
- Manufacturing errors that fall under the warranty. We'll repair those free of charge and you don't need an insurance for that.
- Damage that doesn't have any consequences for the operation of the insured device, like dents, scratches, and damage to the finish.
- Damage to or malfunctions of the insured device that can be fixed by cleaning, like accumulated dirt and clogging.
- Damage to hardware that was built in later on, or newly bought hardware that's no longer in its original state.
- Consequential loss: damage not directly suffered by the equipment. For example, if your washing machine breaks down and water leaks and damages your floor, this damage isn't covered by the insurance. You can use your home or household insurance for this.
- Damage by unintentional loss, like forgetting or letting the insured device lie around.

When does your insurance expire?
Generally, the insurance lasts until it's cancelled either by you or by us. You can cancel an insurance with a fixed term yearly, no later than 3 months before the end of each year that your insurance is in effect. You can cancel a monthly insurance every month, with a 7-day cancellation period. To do this, send an email to verzekeringen@coolblue.be. If you don't cancel your insurance early, we can do this, up to 3 months before your pre-paid period expires.
How much does your insurance cost per year?
In case you have insurance with a fixed term, you pay your insurance in advance for a set period of time. Suppose you've paid your insurance 3 years in advance, and that your premium is € 150. That's means your yearly premium is € 150 / 3 = € 50. If you want to cancel your insurance after 2 years, we'll refund the premium you've paid in excess pro rata. In this case, you've been insured for 2 years, so that's a premium of € 50 x 2 = € 100. But you've paid € 150 in advance and you won't use the third year, so we'll refund € 150 - € 100 = € 50 to you.
Can you cancel your insurance early?
As a Belgian resident, you can cancel your multi-year insurance yearly, no later than 3 months before the end of each year that your insurance is in effect. To do this, you send an email to verzekeringen@coolblue.be, in which you indicate that you want to waive the remaining years of the agreed maximum insurance term. Make sure that the email contains your name, address, and policy number as listed on the policy document. We'll refund the remaining premium pro rata. So, if you've cancelled your 2-year insurance within 9 months, you'll be refunded half of the premium you've paid.
Can you return an insured product?
If you've returned your product within 30 days, we'll refund the payment you already made. We'll try to do this as soon as possible, but at least within 14 days after we've received your cancelation. If you've returned your product after 30 days, we'll refund the pro rata amount. The only condition is that you haven't filed a claim during this period. We'll take care of the cancelation with the insurance company.
